13-Day Tanzania Safari & Mount Kilimanjaro Climb

After breakfast, travel to the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro and complete the registration procedures at Lemosho Gate. Begin your trek through the lush montane rainforest, accompanied by your professional mountain guide and support crew. The trail gradually ascends toward Big Tree Camp, where you enjoy dinner and your first night on the mountain.

Continue climbing through the changing vegetation toward the Shira Plateau. The forest gradually gives way to moorland and open alpine landscapes, revealing expansive views of Kilimanjaro. Your guide maintains a steady pole-pole pace to support acclimatization before arriving at Shira 1 Camp.

Cross the spectacular Shira Plateau while gradually gaining altitude. Enjoy panoramic mountain scenery and a carefully paced trekking day designed to support your body's adjustment to elevation. Depending on conditions and the final route plan, continue toward Moir Camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Today's route provides valuable acclimatization as you climb toward the Lava Tower area before descending toward Barranco Camp. This classic climb-high, sleep-lower approach gives you valuable exposure to higher altitude while allowing you to spend the night at a lower elevation. Enjoy dramatic views of the Western Breach and surrounding volcanic landscapes.

Begin the day by tackling the famous Barranco Wall with the assistance of your experienced mountain crew. The route then continues through alpine desert terrain toward Karanga Camp. Take time to rest, hydrate and prepare for the final stages of the ascent.

Continue toward Barafu Camp, the principal high camp for summit night. The landscape becomes increasingly rugged as you approach the upper slopes of Kilimanjaro. After an early dinner and final summit briefing, rest as much as possible before beginning the summit attempt during the night.

Begin your summit attempt around midnight, climbing gradually through the darkness toward Stella Point and then continuing along the crater rim toward Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Celebrate your achievement at the Roof of Africa before descending through the upper slopes. Continue toward Millennium Camp for a well-earned dinner and overnight rest.

Complete the descent through Kilimanjaro's changing vegetation toward Mweka Gate. After completing the park exit formalities, meet your private vehicle and transfer to Arusha. Enjoy a comfortable hotel stay, hot shower and relaxed evening after your mountain adventure.

After breakfast, begin your private safari toward Tarangire National Park. Enjoy your first game drive among the park's distinctive baobab trees, elephants and diverse wildlife. Your professional safari guide will tailor the experience around wildlife activity and photography opportunities before continuing to your luxury lodge or tented camp.

Depart Tarangire and continue toward Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy a game drive through the park's forest, woodland and lake environments, with opportunities to encounter elephants, giraffes, buffalo, monkeys and numerous bird species. Continue to your luxury accommodation in the Karatu highlands for a relaxing evening.

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an extended morning game drive. Explore the crater floor in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos and other wildlife before ascending and continuing toward Serengeti National Park. Arrive in the Serengeti for an afternoon game drive and enjoy a luxury overnight stay surrounded by the African wilderness

  Enjoy an early morning Serengeti game drive, when wildlife activity is often particularly rewarding. After breakfast, continue with your final safari experience before transferring to the appropriate airstrip or onward connection according to your international departure arrangements. Your 13-day Tanzania adventure concludes with memories of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti and Tanzania's extraordinary wildlife and landscapes.
