Tour Plan

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park. The journey takes you through rural villages and lush landscapes, offering glimpses of Tanzanian culture along the way. Upon arrival at the park, you’ll embark on a game drive that takes you through a diverse range of habitats, including dense woodlands, open grasslands, and the lake’s edge.

Wildlife Highlights:

  • Tree-Climbing Lions: Keep an eye out for the rare sight of lions lounging in acacia trees.
  • Elephants: Lake Manyara is known for its large elephant population, often seen near the road or grazing by the lake.
  • Flamingos & Birdlife: The alkaline lake is home to thousands of flamingos, pelicans, and other water birds.
  • Hippos: Spot hippos wallowing in the shallows or resting along the lake’s banks.
  • Baboons & Monkeys: Troops of baboons and blue monkeys are frequently spotted along the park’s roads and trails.

After a picnic lunch at a scenic spot overlooking the lake, the afternoon game drive continues with more opportunities to explore the park’s diverse wildlife. You may also come across giraffes, buffalo, and impalas.

In the late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and head to your lodge or tented camp near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy a delicious dinner and a relaxing night surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

After an early breakfast, you’ll set out for Ngorongoro Crater. Descending into the crater is a thrilling experience as you’re greeted by dramatic views of the crater floor, teeming with wildlife. Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) in one location.

Wildlife Highlights:

  • Lions: The crater is home to a large lion population, often seen hunting or resting in the open grasslands.
  • Elephants: Look out for the impressive bull elephants with large tusks that roam the crater.
  • Rhinos: Black rhinos are among the crater’s rarest inhabitants, offering a special sighting for visitors.
  • Buffalo & Wildebeests: Herds of buffalo, wildebeests, and zebras are abundant across the crater floor.
  • Hippos & Flamingos: Visit the crater’s central lake, where hippos and flamingos are often spotted.

Midway through the day, you’ll stop at a designated picnic site to enjoy lunch while taking in the breathtaking views of the crater. After lunch, continue your exploration of the crater, spotting more wildlife and taking in the diverse landscapes of grassy plains, acacia woodlands, and swampy areas.

In the afternoon, you’ll ascend the crater walls and begin the drive back to Arusha, passing through picturesque landscapes and small villages. Upon arrival in Arusha, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or preferred location, marking the end of your safari adventure.
